The healing sounds of music

Listening to music has been very healing to both of us the last couple of weeks. I have added a music playlist to this site with some of the songs that have become meaningful to us.

There are times when there aren't words or ways to express our feelings, but listening to music somehow is able to bring it out. Sometimes it brings the tears that are right there ready to fall, but haven't come yet. Sometimes when we can't find the words to pray, the music says what our hearts are feeling.

Here is a song I couldn't get on the playlist, but is another song that has touched my heart.

I Will Lift My Eyes

Written by Bebo Norman and Jason Ingram

God, my God, I cry out
Your beloved needs You now
God, be near, calm my fear
And take my doubt

Your kindness is what pulls me up
Your love is all that draws me in

I will lift my eyes to the Maker
Of the mountains I can’t climb
I will lift my eyes to the Calmer
Of the oceans raging wild
I will lift my eyes to the Healer
Of the hurt I hold inside
I will lift my eyes, lift my eyes to You

God, my God, let Mercy sing
Her melody over me
God, right here all I bring
Is all of me

‘Cause You are and You were and You will be forever
The Lover I need to save me
‘Cause You fashioned the earth and You hold it together, God
So hold me now

I believe music is a good way of expressing feelings as well. I've seen the way yall have loved and cared for Tanner, and I think no one else could have showed the love of Christ to Tanner like yall have. I thank God for bringing yall into his life. For a word of encouragement, (James 1:2-4 "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. vs12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

To Tanner,Tanner's Family and Friends,
Please know that word of Tanner's need has gone out to many believers who are standing with you in prayer. The members of the Worship Team from College Heights Assembly of God have joined many others to lift you up to our heavenly Father. The burden is lighter when it is shared. We consider it an honor and a privilege to help carry your burden.

these songs also helped me during my storm. I pray that they continue to give you peace.

Although Mark & I have never met Tanner, we hear how special he is. God has spared him this far and placed him in a wonderfully nurturing and Godly home for a purpose. Our prayer is that God's purpose will be fulfilled not only in Tanner's life; but also in the lives of his loving Parents. God is STILL a God of miracles.

Our love and prayers,
Mark & Gail Hamilton

"My Father is omnipotent,
And that you can't deny!
A God of might & miracles,
'Tis written in the sky.
It took a miracle
To put the stars in place
It took a miracle
To hang the moon in space
But when He saved my soul
Cleansed and made me whole
It took a miracle
Of love and grace!"
